Halloween is about to get a whole lot louder, darker, and more chaotic at Universal Orlando Resort.

Universal has officially unveiled new details for the 35th anniversary of Halloween Horror Nights, and this year’s event is shaping up to be a major celebration of the history of the world’s premier Halloween event. Halloween Horror Nights 35 will take place on select nights from August 28 through November 1, 2026, transforming Universal Studios Florida into the “Infernal Carnival of Nightmares.”

That theme alone sounds like a fever dream in the best possible way.

The Infernal Carnival of Nightmares

For 2026, Universal Studios Florida will become a decrepit, fear-fueled carnival packed with twisted experiences inspired by both Halloween Horror Nights history and some of the biggest names in horror. Guests can expect a sinister lineup of haunted houses, scare zones, and live entertainment as Universal celebrates 35 years of screams.

And because this is an anniversary year, Universal is bringing out two legendary names to lead the madness: Jack the Clown and Dr. Oddfellow.

Jack the Clown and Dr. Oddfellow Join Forces

In what may be one of the most exciting reveals so far for longtime HHN fans, Jack the Clown and Dr. Oddfellow will serve as the ringmasters of this year’s event. That alone would be enough to get the fanbase buzzing, but Universal didn’t stop there.

For the first time, these two iconic rivals will actually join forces during the event.

That’s a huge deal for HHN lore fans.

Jack is arguably the most infamous icon in Halloween Horror Nights history, while Dr. Oddfellow has quickly become a fan-favorite figure in the event’s mythology. Seeing these two characters collide—and ultimately work together—should add a fun story thread to this year’s experience.

Because apparently one nightmare clown wasn’t enough. Universal really said, “Let’s make it worse,” and honestly, respect.

New Original Haunted House: Jack & Oddfellow: Chaos & Control

Universal also revealed one of this year’s original haunted houses: “Jack & Oddfellow: Chaos & Control.”

This house will bring guests face-to-face with the two icons as they journey into the disturbing origins of Jack and Oddfellow’s long-running rivalry. According to Universal, the house will explore how chaos and control collide, with both icons battling for dominance before realizing the real path to power is joining forces rather than fighting each other.

That setup sounds like exactly the kind of lore-heavy original house HHN fans love to see, especially for a milestone year like this one.

New Halloween Horror Nights 2026 Merchandise Available Now

Guests won’t have to wait until fall to start celebrating. Universal has already released part of the Halloween Horror Nights 2026 merchandise collection, featuring Jack the Clown and Dr. Oddfellow.

The new collection includes apparel and other merchandise, available now at select retail locations inside Universal Studios Florida and online at shopUniversal.com.

If you’re the type of HHN fan who likes to show up already dressed for the chaos, Universal has you covered.

Tickets Coming Soon

Universal says the first ticket products for Halloween Horror Nights 35 will go on sale very soon, with more information about the event’s haunted houses, scare zones, entertainment, and other experiences to be revealed in the coming months.

That means this announcement is likely just the beginning.

And if this is how Universal is opening the curtain on HHN 35, the rest of the lineup may end up being absolutely stacked.

Final Thoughts

Halloween Horror Nights is always one of the biggest highlights of the fall season in Orlando, but 2026 feels especially important. A 35th anniversary only comes once, and Universal appears ready to celebrate it in a big way by leaning into the event’s legacy while giving fans something new.

The Infernal Carnival of Nightmares theme feels like a fitting backdrop for an anniversary event, and the decision to feature both Jack the Clown and Dr. Oddfellow gives this year’s HHN an extra layer of excitement for longtime fans.

With dates now confirmed and the first original haunted house revealed, the hype train — or maybe horror train — is officially leaving the station.
