Tormenta Rampaging Run at Six Flags Over Texas Set to Break Six World Records in 2026.

Six Flags Over Texas is charging full speed into history with the reveal of Tormenta Rampaging Run, a jaw-dropping new roller coaster set to open in 2026. This one-of-a-kind thrill ride isn’t just another addition to the park—it’s rewriting the record books as the tallest, fastest, longest, and world’s first-ever giga (300+ feet tall) dive coaster.

Themed after Spain’s legendary running of the bulls, Tormenta Rampaging Run will dominate the Dallas-Fort Worth skyline while anchoring a brand-new themed area, Rancho de la Tormenta, and an authentic new restaurant, Cocina Abuela. Together, they’ll immerse guests in Spanish culture, flavor, and adrenaline-pumping adventure just in time for the park’s 65th anniversary celebration.

Breaking Six World Records

When it opens, Tormenta Rampaging Run will smash six global records in the roller coaster world:

  • Tallest Dive Coaster: Standing 309 feet, riders will face a breathtaking view before plunging straight into chaos.
  • Fastest Dive Coaster: Hitting speeds up to 87 mph, this bull charges like no other.
  • Longest Dive Coaster: Stretching 4,199 feet, the experience is packed with airtime and wild turns.
  • Tallest Vertical Loop: Riders will flip through a world-record 179-foot loop.
  • Highest Immelmann Inversion: At 218 feet, this upside-down moment is destined to become legendary.
  • Steepest Beyond Vertical Drop: A nerve-shredding 285-foot, 95-degree plunge ensures nobody escapes the stampede unscathed.

Mark Boyer, VP and Park Manager for Six Flags Over Texas, calls it “a true testament to our commitment to providing world-class thrills and innovation.” Designed by Swiss coaster legends Bolliger & Mabillard, Tormenta Rampaging Run isn’t just a record-breaker—it’s a brand-new category of ride.

Rancho de la Tormenta & Cocina Abuela

The coaster isn’t arriving alone. Guests will also step into Rancho de la Tormenta, a newly themed Spanish village complete with colorful banners, festive music, and the legend of the bull “Tormenta.” According to park lore, Tormenta was a beast so powerful and fast that no matador could defeat him—making him the perfect inspiration for the coaster’s unstoppable charge.

Adding flavor to the fiesta is Cocina Abuela, a brand-new restaurant serving scratch-made dishes inspired by Spain and Latin America. Expect bold, authentic flavors like Spanish rice, papas bravas, chicken tinga, fresh guacamole, and more. It’s a far cry from standard theme park fare, promising a meal as memorable as the ride itself.

Celebrating 65 Years of Six Flags Over Texas

The debut of Tormenta Rampaging Run aligns with the park’s 65th anniversary in 2026. Six Flags Over Texas, the original Six Flags park that first opened on August 1, 1961, is pulling out all the stops with exclusive previews, anniversary events, giveaways, and special celebrations.

This milestone makes Tormenta Rampaging Run more than just a ride—it’s a symbol of the park’s history and future as it continues to set the bar for thrills worldwide.

Six Flags Over Texas already boasts heavy hitters like New Texas Giant and Titan, but Tormenta Rampaging Run is set to take the crown as the park’s ultimate must-ride attraction. Between the record-breaking stats, immersive new plaza, and anniversary fanfare, 2026 is shaping up to be a year for the history books in Arlington.
