Busch Gardens Williamsburg is officially howling once again as it unleashes its brand-new family coaster, The Big Bad Wolf: The Wolf’s Revenge. This all-new attraction, which opened to the public today, reawakens the iconic legend with a modern twist—and plenty of family-friendly thrills.
Set against the charming backdrop of a Bavarian village, the immersive experience begins the moment you enter the queue. What starts as a lively celebration in the village quickly spirals into chaos as the glowing red eyes and eerie howls of the Big Bad Wolf signal his return. Guests are launched into the heart of the story, racing through over 2,500 feet of winding track at speeds up to 40 miles per hour on North America’s longest family inverted coaster.
Designed for thrill seekers of all ages, the ride is accessible to younger guests at just 42 inches tall (with a supervising companion) and 48 inches to ride solo—making this a perfect adventure for families looking to ride together. The coaster’s smooth, inverted track layout offers both excitement and comfort, making it a great stepping stone for younger coaster fans.
Members of Busch Gardens had an exclusive sneak preview during the park’s 50th anniversary celebration last weekend, and the response was overwhelmingly positive. Riders praised the theming, thrills, and smooth ride experience, with many already eager to return for another round. Today’s grand opening featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony, a ceremonial first ride, and even a DJ dance party. Special guests included Wolf Scouts from the Colonial Virginia Council and park leadership, who joined in the inaugural ride festivities.
