The French Onion Soup Burger returned for a third year at D-Luxe Burger Disney Springs. What did we think of it?

D-Luxe Burger functions as a fast casual-style restaurant at Disney Springs at Walt Disney World Resort. We often compare it to places like Smashburger or Five Guys. The burger will cost more than your standard fast-food burger. However, the quality will be higher for those looking for an elevated burger. This place makes a good choice for that, even though you may prefer the burgers at Everglazed Donuts Disney Springs.
Still, D-Luxe Burger Disney Springs usually has a limited-time seasonal menu item available. D-Luxe Burger has offered the French Onion Burger to start the new year for the last few years. We lack the knowledge of why this burger fits the theme for the new year. Nevertheless, this burger usually gets positive reviews from guests.
Guests should be aware that you can utilize mobile order at D-Luxe Burger. This could save you some time on a busy day at Disney Springs. Also, the menu has shrunk over the last few years, so the varieties of burgers will be limited.
Despite that, some of our trusted colleagues ordered this year’s version. They did not come away with glowing reviews. Since Vacationeer Tom had to try this burger, we visited Disney Springs for it. In fact, we visited on a Wednesday evening, which, for Vacationeer Podcast fans, means a livestream (most of the time).
French Onion Burger from D-Luxe Burger Disney Springs ($14.99)

The menu description for his burger reads, “Two-pressed Signature-blend Patties topped with French Onion Ragu, Gruyère-French Onion Dip, and Truffle Aïoli on an Herb-Parmesan Park House Roll.” Based on this description, guests should expect a variety of flavors. Those flavors may be noticed in conjunction with a potential mess. We suggest plenty of napkins with this one.
Guests should expect a powerful onion flavor with this burger. This might not be the best burger if you intend to kiss your significant other soon after. Still, the name of the burger should have told you that. The burger also has a cheesy component. The burger does hold up reasonably well to being placed in the dipping sauce if so desired. The dipping sauce matches the burger, but do not expect anything extraordinary.
Concerns

Our primary concern about this burger, besides the potential lousy breath and potential mess, has nothing to do with its taste. Based on comparable quick service options at Disney Springs, the $14.99 price tag appears high. Of course, that could be said of many menu items at Disney Springs.

As Vacationeer Tom stated before going to Disney Spring to try this burger, it sounds expensive for just a burger. Guests should be aware that the price is for the burger alone. It does not come with a side. Also, D-Luxe Burger Disney Springs does not accept Walt Disney World annual pass discounts. The Disney quick service dining plan does work here.
We expect this burger to disappear again from the menu near the end of February. We suggest visiting Disney Springs before then if you want to try it. As always, eat like you mean it!
