Six Flags Over Georgia is getting ready to open its gates for the 2026 season on Saturday, March 14, kicking off the park’s 59th season with a mix of thrills, new food, special events, and water park fun still to come.

For fans of regional theme parks, this sounds like a pretty solid way to start the year. The park says guests can look forward to more than 40 rides, shows, and attractions returning for Opening Day, along with a new dining location and a full lineup of seasonal events throughout the year.

And honestly, that is the kind of news that works. Coasters, food, spring break entertainment, water attractions, Halloween events… the park is not exactly whispering its way into 2026.

A New Dining Spot Is Coming Later This Spring

One of the biggest additions this season is Georgia Sandwich Company, a new dining location scheduled to open later this spring.

According to Six Flags Over Georgia, the new restaurant will feature fresh ingredients, large portions, sandwiches, seasonal soups, salads, house-made chips, desserts, and a full bar. The menu is said to be inspired by local flavors and designed to offer hearty options for the whole family.
Georgia Sandwich Company will replace JB’s Sports Bar and Grille, and it sounds like the park is continuing to put real effort into improving its food lineup.
In fact, Six Flags says this will be one of four new dining experiences introduced under the leadership of the park’s new executive chef since 2025. The other additions include:

- Dee Jay’s Diner
- Firehouse BBQ
- Promenade Primo’s Pizzeria

That is a nice little glow-up for the dining scene. Theme park food has come a long way from the old “here is your burger, it has been through some things” era.
Special Events Will Fill the 2026 Calendar
Six Flags Over Georgia is also promising a full season of events in 2026.
The spring season will include Spring Break from April 3 through April 12, featuring daily festivities, dining, and new live entertainment.
Summer will bring SPLASH! Water Parade, which the park describes as an elaborate interactive water parade, as well as Star-Spangled Nights.

Then in the fall, the park will introduce Tricks and Treats, a new family-friendly daytime Halloween event. That will join the return of Fright Fest and Heroes’ Fest, giving guests both daytime and nighttime seasonal offerings later in the year.
That fall lineup especially feels like Six Flags is trying to cover more bases. Not everybody wants chainsaws and jump scares at noon, so a family-friendly daytime Halloween event makes a lot of sense.
Hurricane Harbor and White Water Return This May
If water attractions are more your speed, there are a couple of dates to keep in mind.
Six Flags Over Georgia says Hurricane Harbor will open for the season on May 9, while Six Flags White Water is scheduled to open on May 23.
That gives guests a little more to look forward to once Georgia starts doing what Georgia does best: turning the outdoors into a very enthusiastic oven.
2026 Season Pass Deal Looks Pretty Strong
The park is also highlighting its 2026 Season Passes as the best way to enjoy everything the season has to offer.
For a limited time, guests can get a free upgrade to a Gold Pass for the price of a Silver Pass. Six Flags says that offer includes access to nine regional Six Flags parks for $65, including parks like:
- Carowinds
- Six Flags Great Adventure
- Dorney Park
- and more
For anyone planning multiple visits, that could be a pretty good value play. One visit is fun. Multiple visits with discounts and event access is where the math starts behaving itself.
What to Know Before You Go
As always, Six Flags notes that dates, availability, and offerings are subject to change, so guests should check the official website before visiting for the latest park hours and event details.
Still, the overall picture for 2026 looks strong. Between the returning rides, expanded food lineup, seasonal entertainment, Hurricane Harbor, White Water, and the new Tricks and Treats event, Six Flags Over Georgia seems to be building a full-season experience rather than just relying on the coaster collection alone.
That is probably the smart move. Big rides get people in the gate, but events, food, and repeatable seasonal experiences are what keep them coming back.
For fans in the region, March 14 is the starting line.
